The City of New West Minster has just received a report commissioned in 2022. The report, written by Gary Penway of Penway Consulting (https://penwayconsulting.ca), provides concise case studies of communities in British Columbia, identifies the community and private benefits of cohousing, provides affordability considerations and outlines recommendations to Council regarding zoning, policy and a proposed pilot project. The report includes contributions by New West Cohousing Society, Cohousing Options Canada Non-profit (www.cohousingoptions.ca) and Roots to Roofs Community Development Society (https://www.roots2roofs.org).
